2016 SANTO ANTÃO, CAPE VERDE
The studio's second project in Cape Verde consists of the implementation of a water treatment and bottling unit next to one of the most important springs on the island of Santo Antão, from which the neighboring island of São Vicente is supplied. Taking into account the importance of water in the archipelago, mainly due to its scarcity or even total absence in some islands, the government decided to go ahead with a project that crosses an industrial component with the creation of a thermal space related to water and a small unit of tourist accommodation related to the walking routes that connect the south and north coasts of the island. The project is located in an old volcanic crater located at an altitude of 1200m, where the most productive agricultural spaces on the island are organized due to the fertile soil, the presence of water and the protection from the winds provided by the slopes of the crate, seeking to recover a set of existing stone ruins.
