LISBOA, PORTUGAL 2019-
The implantation of the expansion occupies the entire area of the existing roof, which, being smaller than the implantation area of the building itself, makes the new proposed volume grow in line with the main facade.
The main facade of this new floor is a neutral and abstract plan, which does not want to create continuity with the existing building, but rather to relate to it through a language that is an expression of contemporaneity. This leaves the possibility of continuing to read the original elevation of the building. For these reasons, it was sought to mark the insertion of the new floor with a single span with steel and glass frames along the entire length of the facade.
The new floor consists of a light structure in wood and steel, with rock wool insulation and a capotto-type system on the outside.
